The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented MRO Inventory Coordinator to join our team at Maple Leaf Foods. As a key member of our Maintenance department, you will play a critical role in maintaining our inventory management and warehousing strategies, ensuring optimal stock levels of critical spare parts and promoting a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the MRO team to ensure optimal stock levels of critical spare parts.
  • Conduct inventory cycle counts, including physical counts, and compare them to SAP stock to ensure accuracy and reconcile differences.
  • Create bin locations physically and in the SAP system, and stock them with spare parts while maintaining an organized storeroom.
  • Maintain the spares criticality (ABC classification) in SAP for all inventoried parts and set Min/Max levels based on usage rate, usage patterns, delivery times, targeted service levels, equipment criticality, and required safety stock levels.
  • Work with the Planner to ensure all required parts are available prior to scheduled work and process all returned parts as required.
  • Resolve shortfalls in inventory levels, apply the Materials Management process in support of planned maintenance operations, and continuously improve Materials/Inventory Management performance based on Maintenance and Operational results and data.
  • Maintain vendor information attached to material part numbers, conduct materials requests, and follow the spare parts disposal process.
  • Review past work order history, process parts/materials requests to meet time requirements, and verify that parts/materials received conform to the PO and are in good condition.
  • Identify new, used, broken, and refurbished spare parts in the warehouse and track them in SAP, follow the plant split valuation process for repairs/refurbishment requirements, and track materials warranties in SAP for major/high-value parts.
  • Comply with the slow-moving and obsolete parts program, apply company rules to categorize these, and ensure provision of care and preservation for spare parts in the warehouse.
  • Oversee the documented parts receiving and issuing processes, maintain the barcode/RFID receiving/issuing system, and kit and stage all required parts for scheduled work prior to adding it to the schedule.
  • Participate in the Maintenance department's continuous improvement initiatives, use visual management techniques to improve key MRO performance indicator results, and provide shipping/receiving coverage during vacations.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 plus up to 2 years of study in a related field, technical school diploma at a community college, university, or equivalent, plus a trade, apprenticeship, or operating training. College diploma/certificate in Purchasing/Inventory management preferred.
  • Highly organized individual capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with effective organized filing process ability.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office computer skills. Individuals with SAP knowledge preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Embraces the Maple Leaf Leadership Edge Core Values.
  • Good understanding of food processing and regulatory requirements.
