We are looking for a skilled Geotechnical Engineering Consultant to join our team in Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting geotechnical site investigations, interpreting data, and developing mine waste management plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct geotechnical site investigations and fieldwork
- Interpret site investigation and laboratory tests data
- Develop and implement mine waste management plans
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of mine waste management systems
- Collaborate with geologists, environmental scientists, water resource engineers, and project managers
- Provide technical support during project planning and execution phases
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and practices
- 2-5 years of experience in mine waste management, geotechnical, or a related field
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., GeoStudio)
- Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a related field
- Experience with tailings or hydro dam design and management
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and permitting processes
- Experience in project management
