About the Role:

GALAXY GRANITE LTD is seeking a skilled Marble Artisan to join our team. As a Marble Artisan, you will be responsible for operating blade or wire saws to cut blocks of stone to specified dimensions, grinding and polishing surfaces of stone blocks, slabs or other stone products to specific shape or design, and producing a smooth finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate blade or wire saws to cut blocks of stone to specified dimensions
  • Operate machines to grind and polish surfaces of stone blocks, slabs or other stone products to specific shape or design and to produce a smooth finish
  • Operate sandblasting equipment to cut inscriptions or decorative designs in monumental stone
  • Operate stone-dressing lathe to sharpen and dress grindstones that grind logs into pulp
  • Operate machines to drill holes in blocks or slabs of stone according to specifications
  • Finish stone products with spray paint and by mounting plaques or installing concrete bases

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

  • Physically demanding
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling

Requirements:

  • Steel-toed safety boots
  • Work Term: Permanent
  • Work Language: English
