Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Transportation Specialist to join our team at Scotland Roadline Trucking Ltd. as a Truck Driver.

As a Transportation Specialist, you will be responsible for the safe transportation of goods and materials across various routes. Your primary focus will be on operating our fleet of trucks, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Drive and operate our trucks safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
  • Transport goods and materials to various destinations, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining excellent customer relationships.
  • Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure the fleet is well-maintained and in good working condition.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as tire checks, brake adjustments, and oil changes, to prevent mechanical issues and reduce downtime.
  • Collaborate with dispatchers and other team members to ensure seamless communication and efficient route planning.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance your skills and knowledge as a Transportation Specialist.
  • Maintain accurate records of your routes, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo to prevent damage or loss.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing circumstances and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions to promote a culture of safety and risk awareness within the company.
  • Other duties as assigned by management to support the smooth operation of our transportation services.

Requirements:

  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A) and a clean driving record.
  • Air Brakes Endorsement
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field, preferably in transportation or logistics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, customers, and dispatchers.
  • A strong commitment to safety, customer service, and teamwork.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible schedule and willingness to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical stamina to handle the demands of driving and loading/unloading cargo, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a focus on education and training in transportation, logistics, or a related field.
