Human Resources Generalist Co-op: Exploring Business Operations

At Equifax, Inc., our Summer 2025 Human Resources Generalist co-op program serves as a gateway to full-time career paths for current university students pursuing their Bachelor's Degree. This 15-week co-op experience provides meaningful projects with direct impact on our business, along with exposure to senior leaders and opportunities to network.

We are recruiting a highly motivated student with strong collaboration and communication skills for our Human Resources Generalist Co-op. Our aim is to offer a broad experience across various aspects of Human Resources work, rather than specializing in a single area. The opportunity exists to customize your experience somewhat, aligning with your particular interests.

The 15-week co-op program spans from May to August. During this time, co-ops follow our hybrid onsite policy, working onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Monday and Friday are designated remote work days.

To participate in the program, co-ops must be local to the Toronto/Montreal area and able to commute to our office in Toronto/Montreal based on the role's location.

Key Responsibilities:

- Partner with Human Resources Professionals across our HR team to support projects and ongoing business needs in various areas, including Human Resources Business Partners, Learning & Development, Recruitment, Benefits, Compensation.

- Collaborate with HRBP leaders to address different internal business client needs as they arise, involving participation in our annual compensation process, various compensation exercises, employee relations, onboarding, and other employee lifecycle initiatives.

- Support ongoing actions related to our Human Resources priorities within the annual performance management cycle.

- Assist with People Manager calls, providing just-in-time information and training relevant to current priorities.

- Be actively involved in recruitment by posting job ads, interviewing candidates, scheduling interviews, creating engaging external advertisements, screening candidates, and if willing and able, managing a few requisitions independently.

- Assist in developing and communicating various training and development initiatives.

- Champion the review of health and safety compliance, contributing to the enhancement and development of local training and resources.

- Participate in activities leveraging data to understand the nature of a data-driven approach to HR decision-making.

- Provide administrative support and tasks for the Human Resources team.

- Additional duties and projects as assigned, aligned with aptitude and interest.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a University or College program in HR or a business program with an HR specialty.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal; bilingual in French an asset.
  • Adaptable to technology, experience with Google Workspace an asset.
  • Passion for and interest in Human Resources as a profession or career.
  • Able to handle multiple demands simultaneously.
  • High level of initiative, curiosity, creativity, energy, and self-confidence.
  • Proven commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong team player and relationship builder.
  • A strong work ethic and curiosity and interest in all aspects of Human Resources.
