Job Title: Environmental Project Manager

SynergyAspen is seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our environmental consulting firm, you will play a critical role in reducing our clients' environmental footprint.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Administer programs related to scientific fields, including contaminated sites, reclamation, and natural sciences work.
  2. Advise senior executives on environmental issues related to the company's activities, ensuring compliance with provincial and federal regulations.
  3. Analyze samples of gases and vapors to identify potential environmental hazards.
  4. Conduct research to stay up-to-date on the latest environmental technologies and best practices.
  5. Document investigations and conclusions/recommendations, providing clear and concise reports to stakeholders.
  6. Monitor budgets allocated to environmental programs, ensuring effective cost management.
  7. Monitor environmental non-compliance and required corrective actions, taking proactive steps to mitigate risks.
  8. Report information to supervisor, providing regular updates on project progress.
  9. Provide consulting services to government and other organizations, leveraging expertise to drive environmental sustainability.
  10. Client communication is key, ensuring excellent levels of service to internal and external clients.
  11. Prepare work plans and cost estimates, managing environmental field work programs with precision.
  12. Mentor and train staff, ensuring work is done safely and correctly, with a focus on quality and efficiency.
  13. Manage, review, and sign-off on technical reports, maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
  14. Liaise with regulators, contractors, and other third parties, fostering strong relationships and effective collaboration.
  15. Prepare and issue invoices to clients, ensuring timely and accurate billing.
  16. Maintain billable targets as set by CEO/COO, driving business growth and revenue.
  17. Undertake occasional travel to Calgary, Fort St. John, or other destinations as needed, representing the company with professionalism and expertise.
Job Requirements:
  1. 10+ years of relevant contaminated sites/reclamation/natural sciences experience in environmental consulting in BC, with 5+ years of project management experience.
  2. Technical diploma or degree in a related discipline, such as environmental science, biology, or chemistry.
  3. Possesses a recognized accredited professional designation (e.g., P.Eng, P.Geo, P.Chem, P.Ag.) recognized in BC, or the ability to acquire one.
  4. Experience in contaminated sites on urban sites, with extensive knowledge of provincial and federal environmental regulations and guidelines.
  5. Experience in managing technically complex projects, working with a dynamic team, and overseeing cost controls.
  6. Energy, intelligence, and integrity are essential, with a relentless drive for exceptional client experience.
  7. Experience managing and working with a multi-disciplinary team, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  8. Reliable attention to details that matter most, accuracy-driven, and professional organizational skills are crucial.
  9. Excellent communication, technical writing, and problem-solving skills are required, with a commitment to safety and quality.
  10. Criminal record check and ability to work under pressure, with tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.
  11. Internet access and ability to multitask, with accurate and efficient interpersonal skills.
  12. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with flexibility and interpersonal awareness.
  13. Judgement and team player skills are essential, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
