Job Description

We are seeking an Electrical Systems Design Specialist to join our Engineering Team. This role involves creating and maintaining precise electrical designs and schematics, ensuring adherence to stringent company standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines. The successful candidate will craft robust 12 VDC and 120/240VAC electrical systems, addressing de-rating standards, and enhancing system reliability.

This position demands a blend of innovation and pragmatism. You will lead initiatives to identify and implement continuous improvements, fostering a culture of excellence and adaptability within the engineering framework. From conceptualization to execution, your critical thinking and problem-solving talent will be instrumental in optimizing production efficiency and maximizing product quality.

Responsibilities
  1. Be open to learning and developing your skill set from a highly talented team and work with the team on troubleshooting production and service issues.
  2. Collaborate with engineers to create and maintain feasible, robust designs and schematics that meet accepted Crestline Engineering/QMS standards, internal/external customer requirements, OEM chassis requirements, regulatory and statutory requirements, and exemplary standards of fit and finish for efficient manufacturing.
  3. Coordinate and incorporate feedback from customers, suppliers, and internal teams to continuously improve product quality, reduce costs, enhance delivery time, and increase customer satisfaction.
  4. Be part of the design and maintenance of accurate electrical designs, drawings, schematics, and harnesses that meet company standards, customer requirements, OEM chassis requirements, and regulatory standards.
  5. Ensure compliance with 12 VDC and 120/240VAC electrical systems standards.
  6. Support the development of standard electrical system components and wire harnesses to reduce lead time.
  7. Programme embedded systems for vehicle functions.
  8. Drive standardization and apply engineering analysis.
  9. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  10. Provide support for compliance testing and certification.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  1. An engineering technology diploma in design and manufacturing engineering or electrical engineering technology or equivalent. Post-secondary education in engineering is an asset.
  2. Proficiency and/or working knowledge in ECAD tools and drafting principles.
  3. A working knowledge of PDM or PLM systems.
  4. Experience in electrical design and integration.
  5. Knowledge of electrical systems and design principles.
  6. Flexibility for design variations, tweaking, modifications.
  7. Troubleshooting, critical thinking, and complex problem-solving mentality.
  8. Practical experience in cable fabrication and testing.
  9. An agile and adaptable mindset with a strong sense of urgency.
  10. An ability to visualize and form a concept with originality.
  11. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  12. A highly self-motivated attitude with a keen attention to detail and solid decision-making.
  13. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
  14. Vehicle design, Automotive and specialty vehicle electronics experience is beneficial.
  15. Understanding of vehicle CAN bus systems.
  16. Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is $85,000-$110,000 CAD, depending on experience.
