Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and caring Child Care Provider to join our private household as a full-time nanny. This is a permanent position with 40 hours of work per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents.
  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
  • Travel with the family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties.
  • Wash, iron and press clothing and household linens.
  • Bathe, dress and feed infants and children.
  • Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents.
  • Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home.
  • Organize activities such as games and outings for children.
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals.
  • Prepare infants and children for rest periods.
  • Supervise and care for children.
  • Take children to and from school and to appointments.
  • Tend to the emotional well-being of children.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
  • Criminal record check.
  • Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) weight handling capability.
Work Environment

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a non-smoking environment and may have the option to live in on-site accommodation at no charge.

Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $40,000 - $60,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.

Our private household offers a supportive and inclusive environment for our employees. We facilitate access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers and do not require Canadian work experience.
