Position Summary

The Golf Shop Attendant plays a vital role in the daily operation of the golf course at Deerhurst Resort. This dynamic individual will be responsible for checking-in guests and members for play, booking future rounds of golf, and assisting with the organization and sales of merchandise.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Books starting times and ensures a smooth guest experience
  • Checks in golf guests and members, providing exceptional service and hospitality
  • Assists with recording Golf Shop inventory and maintaining accurate records
  • Counts and tracks incoming inventory of all pro shop merchandise, ensuring timely restocking
  • Prices each item before it goes out into the shop, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Answers Golf Shop telephones, providing prompt and professional service
  • Informs the Assistant Golf Professional of any items that need to be reordered, ensuring a seamless shopping experience
  • Provides exceptional and professional service to our guests and hosts, ensuring a positive resort experience
  • Ensures the well-being of our guests and hosts by being alert to and reporting potential hazards
  • Comfortable making decisions and develops recommendations for effective problem solving
  • Ensures up-to-date knowledge of the point-of-sale system and maintains accurate records
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the resort and its amenities, providing guests with valuable recommendations
  • Maintains a professional appearance at all times, representing Deerhurst Resort with pride
  • Completes special projects in a timely manner as requested, demonstrating a strong work ethic
  • Completes all other duties as required, ensuring a seamless resort experience

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma an asset
  • Knowledge of golf merchandise and golf equipment an asset
  • Previous experience at a golf course an asset
  • Experience handling cash an asset
  • Experience working with computers an asset

  • Computer knowledge

  • Able to maintain composure and objectivity
  • Able to handle problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
  • Able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Is flexible with their schedule, shift work, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business levels require, potential of overtime when required
