Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Restaurant Operations Supervisor to join our team at Rangoli East Indian Restaurant Ltd. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about the food service industry and has experience in supervising restaurant operations.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze Budgets: The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing budgets to boost and maintain the restaurant's profits, ensuring that we stay ahead of the competition.
  • Develop Budgets: They will develop budgets to determine the cost of food, ingredients, alcohol, kitchen and cleaning supplies, ensuring that we get the best value for our money.
  • Evaluate Daily Operations: Our ideal candidate will evaluate daily operations to identify areas of improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Modify Food Preparation Methods and Menu Prices: They will modify food preparation methods and menu prices according to the restaurant budget, ensuring that we offer high-quality food at competitive prices.
  • Monitor Revenues: The successful candidate will monitor revenues to determine labor costs, ensuring that we are running efficiently and effectively.
  • Monitor Staff Performance: They will monitor staff performance, providing feedback and coaching to help them improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Plan and Organize Daily Operations: Our ideal candidate will plan and organize daily operations, ensuring that we are running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Recruit Staff: They will recruit staff, including hiring, training, and developing employees to ensure that we have the right people in the right roles.
  • Set Staff Work Schedules: The successful candidate will set staff work schedules, ensuring that we have adequate coverage during peak periods.
  • Supervise Staff: They will supervise staff, providing guidance and support to help them perform their duties effectively.
  • Determine Type of Services: Our ideal candidate will determine the type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures to ensure that we deliver high-quality service to our customers.
  • Conduct Performance Reviews: They will conduct performance reviews, providing feedback and coaching to help employees improve their performance.
  • Enforce Provincial/Territorial Liquor Legislation: The successful candidate will enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations, ensuring that we comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Organize and Maintain Inventory: They will organize and maintain inventory, ensuring that we have adequate stock levels and minimize waste.
  • Ensure Health and Safety Regulations: Our ideal candidate will ensure that health and safety regulations are followed, ensuring that we provide a safe working environment for our employees.
  • Negotiate Arrangements: They will negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies, ensuring that we get the best value for our money.
  • Address Customer Complaints: The successful candidate will address customer complaints or concerns, ensuring that we provide high-quality service to our customers.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year
  • Work Language: English
  • Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week
Support for Newcomers and Refugees
  • Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees
  • Assists with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: housing, transportation, storage, childcare, winter clothing, etc.)
  • SUPPORTS social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: facilitating access to community resources, language training, skills training, etc.)
  • Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster (for example: Ukraine, Afghanistan, etc.)
  • Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition
  • Offers mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees
  • Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees
  • Does not require Canadian work experience
Support for Mature Workers
  • Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports mature workers
  • Applies hiring policies that discourage age discrimination
  • Provides staff with awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers
  • Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for mature workers
  • Offers phased retirement options that allow mature workers to gradually reduce their workload (for example: flexible or reduced work hours, part time employment, project-based or seasonal work, etc.)
  • Offers phased re-entry options for mature workers who are returning to work after retiring (for example: gradually increasing hours and responsibilities)
