About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Animal Health Technician to join our Toxicology team in Senneville. As an essential member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of our laboratory animals.

Your primary responsibilities will include administering test items / medications to animals (Gavage, intramuscular, subcutaneous and intravenous injections), performing sample collection (blood, urine, etc.), collecting data (body weight, food consumption, clinical signs, etc.) and handling animals for any activities that require it. Additionally, you will be responsible for cleaning all types of animal housing and accessories.

What We Offer

As an employee of Charles River Laboratories, you can expect a competitive salary of $23 per hour with primes including evenings ($2.50), weekends ($2.75), overtime (time and a half) and holidays (double time).

We also offer a full-time regular schedule with mostly days, weekend rotations and holidays with overtime on evening and night when needed. Additionally, we provide a free shuttle service from the Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue train station and John Abbott College to the Senneville site, as well as free parking for those who drive.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a college diploma in Animal Health or Environmental and Wildlife management, or a Bachelor's degree in Biology or any related Animal Science discipline. You must also have good observation skills, be able to work physically (lift up to 20 kg, walk, stand, stoop, etc.) and have a strong understanding of written English. Bilingualism in French and English is preferred.
