Campus Security Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Campus Security Officer to join our team at Mount Saint Vincent and Saint Mary's University.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide accurate and dependable security services to the university community.
- Comprehend and demonstrate competencies of campus security policies and procedures, utilizing a customer service approach.
- Be attentive to the needs of students, faculty, and staff, building relationships with the university community.
- Facilitate a safe and supportive environment, encouraging students to meet their academic goals.
- Develop an atmosphere of respect and concern for the rights of others.
- Assist students, staff, and faculty during crisis situations and contact emergency services as needed.
- Inspect the campus for damage and report to management.
- Ensure property safety by ensuring all security measures are functioning properly.
- Patrol buildings, facilities, and exterior grounds.
- Respond to incidents and play an active role in emergency situations.
- Conduct investigations into thefts, break-ins, suspicious persons, accidents, vandalism, etc.
- Complete incident reports, occurrence logs, or appropriate documentation.
- Complete door locks/unlocks as required and monitor for unsecure doors.
- Enforce campus and tobacco use policies and document non-compliance.
- Provide assistance to university community members as needed.
- Assist in orientation and training of new security personnel.
- Provide First Aid response.
- Monitor surveillance cameras as required.
- Other related duties and assignments as delegated by the University Security Manager.
