Retail Store Operations Manager, General Merchandise

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail Store Operations Manager to join our team at Northern/NorthMart. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the success of our retail stores across the North.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the General Merchandise Department, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. This includes managing staff, maintaining inventory levels, controlling costs, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the General Merchandise Department to maximize sales and grow profits
- Develop departmental business plans to meet or exceed sales and gross profit goals
- Monitor and adjust customer service levels as needed, focusing on creating strong customer relationships and delivering excellent customer service
- Schedule staff to maximize customer service and fulfill business needs
- Ensure that stock areas, merchandise displays, and fixtures are clean and in good order
- Protect company assets by maintaining and controlling inventories
- Support, train, and develop staff to provide outstanding customer service and achieve business objectives
- A minimum of two years of experience in a high-volume grocery/retail environment
- Strong customer service skills and a record of bottom-line results in previous roles
- Ability to interpret instructions both verbally and orally, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Computer knowledge of Excel and Outlook, with analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Proven organizational, planning, and prioritizing skills, with a strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to develop an in-depth understanding of Northern/NorthMart customers and their needs
- Commitment to Northern/NorthMart's vision, mission, values, and strategies
- A competitive salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience
