Job Title: Woodworking Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Woodworking Specialist to join our team at Swiftwood Forest Products. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for preparing layouts, measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Supervise other workers
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments

Work Environment: This is a physically demanding role that requires bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be a team player.

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
