Job Summary

FortisBC is seeking a highly skilled Technologist 3 - MRS Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Electric Operations Technology (OT) Information Technology (IT) environment, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth function of business operations as it pertains to the BCUC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Integrate business requirements into technology to ensure compliance with BCUC CIP Standards.
  • Analyze, design, configure, implement, and maintain information systems, data centres, virtual infrastructures, networking components, and security.
  • Assist in the coordination of regular internal and external audits and ensure accuracy of compliance systems.
  • Manage assigned compliance tasks to meet hard deadlines and ensure the delivery of high-quality accurate and reliable data in a high-pressure environment.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including business analysts, software vendors, cyber security, and infrastructure groups.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in data centre technologies, virtualization, storage, backup, networking, security, and related supporting infrastructure.
Requirements
  • Completion of a recognized diploma in Computer Systems Technology.
  • Four (4) years' relevant technology experience.
  • Have or able to obtain GCIP Certification within 3 years.
  • Industry relevant certifications are considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, including ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail with focus on ensuring the delivery of high-quality accurate and reliable data in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task deadline-driven tasks.
  • Strong ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Strong advanced oral and written communication and presentation skills.
