We are seeking a highly skilled Social Worker to join our Mental Health Substance Use department at Northern Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide clinical social work counseling services to clients and families with serious, persistent mental illness and substance use.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive social work and psychosocial assessments of clients with mental illness and substance misuse/dependence
- Develop and deliver in-services, presentations, psycho-educational and support groups
- Provide education and support to clients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Collaborate with community health and social agency personnel to ensure effective referrals and utilization of client resources
- Work independently and collaboratively in a team environment to provide crisis prevention/intervention and conflict resolution/de-escalation skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited school of Social Work
- Two years' recent, related experience in a mental health and substance use treatment setting
- Current full registration with the BC College of Social Workers
- Valid Class 5 BC driver's license with access to personal vehicle for business purposes
- CPR and First Aid certification
