About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Groundskeeper to join our team at Niagara National Golf and Country. As a Groundskeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the beauty and integrity of our golf course and surrounding grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with landscape constructions and installations
  • Tie and secure plants, trees, and other vegetation
  • Weed, prune, and trim trees and plants to maintain a healthy and visually appealing landscape
  • Cut grass and maintain turf to ensure a smooth playing surface
  • Rake and collect refuse, including leaves and other debris
  • Remove litter and garbage from the grounds
  • Cart and spread topsoil and other materials as needed
  • Lay sod or seed to repair damaged areas
  • Plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs, and trees to enhance the beauty of the grounds
  • Apply fertilizers and other chemicals to promote healthy plant growth
  • Repair and maintain equipment, including lawn mowers and other machinery
  • Write daily basic progress reports to track your work and identify areas for improvement
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens to ensure they receive the necessary care
  • Operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment, including lawn mowers and other machinery
Requirements
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail to ensure accurate and efficient work
  • Ability to distinguish between colors and work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • Bending, crouching, and kneeling are required for this role
  • Steel-toed safety boots are required for this role
