Job Title: Digital Electronic Design Engineer

PerkinElmer is a global leader in analytical services and solutions, serving the biopharma, food, environmental, safety, and applied end markets. We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Electronic Design Engineer to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented engineer to design and develop electronic systems for our products. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mixed signal design, high voltage power supply design, and analog/digital circuit design. They will work closely with our cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and provide technical insight to minimize risk and maximize opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electronic systems for new and existing products
  • Conduct testing on existing systems and design improvements
  • Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines to perform product sustaining activities
  • Design circuits and perform tests and evaluations for design verification and validation
  • Use technical knowledge to determine the most effective solution for complex problems
  • Propose technology concepts for existing products or new product designs
  • Work with scientists and other engineers to prove out designs
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues
  • Provide technical insight to minimize risk and maximize opportunity
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or closely related discipline
  • Minimum of 5+ years of recent design engineering experience in a high technology environment
  • Mixed signal design experience is mandatory
  • High voltage power supply design experience is a strong asset
  • Ability to create and analyze advanced analog and digital circuit designs using state-of-the-art components
  • Experience with IPC standards and PCB manufacturing from an electronic design perspective
  • Hands-on experience in testing and troubleshooting PCBAs is mandatory
  • Ability to use advanced simulation and analysis tools in problem-solving
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes to develop cost-effective and reliable designs
  • Ability to evaluate and troubleshoot with standard test equipment
  • Strong knowledge of EMI-EMC management techniques to pass compliance testing of electronic equipment
  • Ability to use standard documentation tools to create and communicate design, specifications, and test results
