About the Role:

Citigroup Inc. is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Vice President, Internal Audit to join our team. As a key member of our Internal Audit division, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of our internal controls and risk management processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of Internal Audit professionals, responsible for recruiting, developing, and leading a high-performing team.
  • Develop and execute a robust Audit Plan, aligned with Citigroup's risk management framework and regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver high-quality audit reports, issue validation, and business monitoring, ensuring timely and effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Direct complex audit activities, leveraging expertise in consumer regulatory compliance, technology application control disciplines, and business understanding of consumer banking products and services.
  • Proactively advance integrated auditing concepts and technology adoption, staying up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices.
  • Manage a complex unit within Internal Audit, including a medium-sized team, and possess a broad understanding of Internal Audit standards, policies, and local regulations.
  • Lead the professional development of Internal Audit staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Develop effective senior line management relationships, demonstrating a strong understanding of the businesses and their inter-relationships.
  • Apply excellent communication skills to influence a wide range of internal audiences, including executive management partners, and negotiate on matters impacting the area managed.
  • Demonstrate strong judgment, political astuteness, and sensitivity to cultural diversity, making sound decisions and exhibiting initiative and intuitive thinking.
  • Participate in major business initiatives, advising and assisting the business on change initiatives, and frequently involved in matters requiring complex judgments and solutions.
  • Serve as lead reviewer for all types of reviews, including the most complex, and review and approve Business Monitoring Quarterly Summaries.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in a related role, with senior-level experience in business, functional, and people management.
  • BA/BS or equivalent, with related certifications (CPA, ACA, CFA, CIA, CISA, or similar) a plus.
  • Specific subject matter expertise in consumer regulatory compliance, technology application control disciplines, and business understanding of consumer banking products and services.
  • Experience in managing teams and integrated internal audit and assurance delivery within a matrix reporting environment.
  • Effective negotiation skills, a proactive approach in communicating issues, and strength in sustaining independent views.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with all levels of internal and external audit and management.
