Job Summary

Tangent Building Systems is seeking an experienced Woodcraft Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for bringing buildings to life through expert woodworking and carpentry skills.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled tradesperson who can take on a variety of tasks, from preparing layouts to building foundations, installing floor beams, and erecting walls and roof systems. You will work closely with our team to ensure that all projects are completed to the highest standards.

This is a physically demanding role that requires strong manual dexterity and attention to detail. If you have experience working with power tools, concrete finishing machines, and other equipment, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes using measuring tools.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.
  • Brush waterproofing cement or other material over insulating materials.
  • Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster.
  • Install vapour barriers and fire-retardant materials.
  • Position and secure steel bars or metal mesh in concrete forms to reinforce concrete structures.
  • Restore, clean, or paint existing masonry structures.
  • Trowel or spray coats of stucco over exteriors of buildings to form weatherproof surfaces.
Requirements
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to work at heights.
  • Experience with power tools, concrete finishing machines, and other equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Reliability and strong teamwork skills.
