About the Role

We are seeking a skilled wood frame carpenter to join our team at Newton Boys Framing and Development Ltd. This is a full-time position that requires a high level of expertise in wood framing, with a focus on ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements and specifications
  • Create precise layouts and measurements to ensure conformance to building codes and regulations
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join various materials, including wood, substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials as needed
  • Prepare tenders and quotations for clients and stakeholders
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems with precision and attention to detail
  • Fabricate and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to meet client specifications
  • Supervise and lead other workers to ensure projects are completed efficiently and effectively
  • Maintain and repair residential and commercial structures, including wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • At least 1 month of experience in a related field, preferably with a permanent contract
  • Fluency in English language
  • Ability to work 30 hours per week, with occasional overtime required

The estimated salary for this position is around $60,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. This figure may vary depending on individual qualifications and experience.
