Job DescriptionWe are looking for a skilled tradesperson with experience in carpentry to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing layouts, measuring and cutting materials, and assembling and joining various components.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare layouts in accordance with building codes using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced production environment with a combination of sitting, standing and walking. They will also be required to handle heavy loads and work in physically demanding conditions.
Requirements- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 1-2 years of experience in carpentry or a related trade
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
The successful candidate will work in a combination of sitting, standing and walking. They will also be required to handle heavy loads and work in physically demanding conditions.
