We are seeking a highly experienced Director to lead our Office of Research Services at MacEwan University. The successful candidate will provide strategic oversight and management for external granting applications, funding, compliance ethics, and student initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the coordination and administration of research programs, ensuring compliance with national standards;
  • Manage and support the administration of research funding programs, allocating funds effectively;
  • Evaluate research activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical guidelines;
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for research security and data management;
  • Serve as subject matter expert on federal and provincial policies related to funding and research;
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to elevate the university's research profile and contribute to tactical direction;
  • Develop strategies to increase research capacity, enhance collaboration across faculties, and support research priorities through policy development and governance;
  • Lead and manage the Research Grants Development and Research Ethics teams, fostering a positive team culture and effective service delivery;
  • Provide strategic leadership to increase research capacity, enhance collaboration, and support research priorities;
Qualifications and Skills
  • A minimum of a master's degree in science, social science, engineering, healthcare, or a related field;
  • A minimum of 5 years in research administration or a related field;
  • Experience managing compliance, grants, and institutional research programs;
  • Experience developing strategic business and operational plans at the divisional level in relation to research grants, ethics, and administration;
  • Supervision of staff in a unionized environment would be considered an asset;
