Opportunity Overview

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Coordinator to join our team at Colas Western Canada Inc. As a key member of our environmental team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with internal and external environmental protection requirements across all business units and operational activities.

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a recent graduate (BSc) in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, or Environmental Technology to develop their skills and expertise in environmental sustainability and compliance.

Job Description

Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the company in carrying out activities for the implementation of the Environmental Protection Program and Action Plans. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with meeting environmental requirements of Terus' parent company Colas Canada and working cooperatively with the Colas Environmental Advisor.
  • Working closely with the Regional Construction Managers and Regional Ready-Mix Supervisors to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Providing regular input to the Terus HSE Manager on what is required for continual environmental improvements.
  • Conducting environmental inspections and audits at company sites, preparing reports, and submitting them to the Terus HSE Manager.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A recent graduate degree (BSc) in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, or Environmental Technology.
  • Computer literacy with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Knowledge of environmental issues relevant to road construction and allied industries such as ready-mix concrete, aggregate supply, and civil works.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
