Job Title: Trades Helper

New Era Floor Gallery Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Trades Helper to join our team

Job Description:

  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required, but a willingness to learn and train is essential.
  • Experience: Previous experience in construction is beneficial, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
  • Work Setting: Our Trades Helper will work in various locations across the city, including construction sites, warehouses, and other related facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials as required.
  • Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt to ensure a smooth and efficient construction process.
  • Assist the medical examiner in charge with their duties and responsibilities.
  • Help with aligning pipes during pipeline construction and assist with drilling and blasting rock on construction sites.
  • Assist with framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs to ensure a sturdy and safe structure.
  • Assist with demolishing buildings and cleaning up the site afterwards.
  • Clean and pile salvaged materials, and clean up chemical spills and other contaminants.
  • Remove rubble and other debris from construction sites to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Tend to or feed machines or equipment used in construction to ensure they are in good working order.
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites to ensure a smooth flow of traffic.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

  • Fast-paced environment with a high level of physical activity required.
  • Physically demanding tasks, including handling heavy loads and working in challenging weather conditions.
  • Repetitive tasks and a high level of concentration required to ensure accuracy and attention to detail.

Weight Handling:

  • Our Trades Helper will be required to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) on a regular basis.

Personal Suitability:

  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve common goals.
  • Permanent full-time position with a guaranteed 30 to 40 hours per week.
  • English is the primary language of communication in this role, and proficiency is required for success.
