About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team at Obra African Foods. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and other accounting documents.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Payroll and Benefits Administration: Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll, maintain employee benefits records, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for cost savings.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in bookkeeping or a related field.
  • Skills: Proficiency in accounting software, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks. They will also be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The primary language of work is English.
