We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior BAS Service Technician to join our growing Ottawa team. As a key member of our project team, you will work closely with our experienced BAS Service Manager to deliver top-notch building automation solutions to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design, installation, and commissioning of BAS systems, including HVAC equipment and lighting controls.
  • Perform site verifications, troubleshooting, and startups of BAS systems and their peripheral devices.
  • Assist with project and service group documentation, including creating and maintaining accurate records.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Ainsworth's Safe Work and H&S Policies, and demonstrate a commitment to workplace safety.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in HVAC and DDC fundamentals, as well as Schneider Electric BAS product portfolio.
  • Complete Schneider Electric product-specific training prior to factory training.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of BAS networking and system integration.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a BAS technician role.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to be insured by Ainsworth.
  • Pass security screening as required by Ainsworth's government clients.
  • Fluent in English, both written and oral. Fluency in French is a definite asset.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and specs, as well as product documentation.
  • Graduate of a post-secondary technical or engineering program.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Visio or scripted programming language.
  • Ability to perform medium physical duties, including standing for long periods of time in a construction environment.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work from heights (with fall arrest protection provided).
  • Some travel may be requested from time to time, with reimbursement for expenses including mileage for driving.
