We are seeking a Laboratory Analyst to join our team in Red Deer, Alberta. As a Laboratory Analyst, you will be responsible for operating various instruments, maintaining calibration and quality control records, and performing routine maintenance procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Operating ICP, GC, HPLC, and NMR instruments
  • Maintaining proper calibration and quality control records
  • Performing and documenting routine maintenance procedures
  • Preparing samples for analysis using extraction methods
  • Troubleshooting and understanding analytical equipment
  • Reporting instrument breakdowns to Supervisor and informing senior staff of any sample integrity related issues
  • Ensuring adherence to Bureau Veritas's policies, certifications, and accreditations
  • Actively participating in Bureau Veritas's Health and Safety Program

Requirements include:

  • Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in a related field
  • Demonstrated success in a Laboratory Technician or Analyst position
  • Sound knowledge of sample handling procedures
  • Knowledge of and experience with laboratory Occupational Health and Safety practices
  • Excellent manual dexterity, record keeping, calculations, and problem-solving abilities
  • Flexible to perform varying duties to accommodate changing priorities
  • Good time-management, communication, multi-tasking, and priority-setting skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Positive outlook with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Experience:

  • Minimum Education: Diploma in a related field (Required)
  • 2-3 years of experience in a related field (Preferred)

Schedule/Working Conditions:

  • Must live locally in the Red Deer area or be willing to relocate
  • Must have access to reliable transportation to be able to travel to and from site; no public transportation is available
  • Shift is 7 days on, 7 days off, 12 hour shift (days only)
