Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Sienna Senior Living. As a critical member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality nursing care to our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Provide nursing care in accordance with established policies, physician's orders, and resident plans of care.
- Utilize sound nursing practice principles to deliver excellent nursing and personal care in assigned home areas.
- Ensure the safekeeping and control of drugs and narcotics, and follow protocols on all assigned shifts.
- Create a comfortable and safe environment that promotes resident dignity, autonomy, and independence.
- Optimize each resident's potential to achieve or maintain maximum functional ability.
- Seek direction from the RN when resident needs exceed your experience or scope of practice.
- Exercise sound nursing judgment by reporting changes in resident status to the RN and taking appropriate action.
- Foster an atmosphere conducive to optimal care and effective functioning of assigned resident home areas through collaboration with team members.
- Liaise with medical team members to support effective clinical care for all residents.
- Continuously assess your own nursing practice and learning needs.
- Participate in in-service programs and attend conferences, seminars, and workshops to enhance your skills.
- Document priorities, target dates, and strategies or interventions on individualized care plans to achieve best possible outcomes for residents.
- Diploma in Practical Nursing.
- Current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses BC.
- Successful annual completion of RAI MDS certification as per Ministry of Health requirements for AIS.
- Current First Aid with CPR.
- All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Records Check.
- Long Term Care Experience.
Wage Leveling rate of pay $41.35 per hour until such time that wage leveling ends, then the pay rate will reflect the collective agreement pay rates.
