Job Title: Senior Permitting Engineer

At The Mosaic Company, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Permitting Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our permitting team, you will be responsible for planning and preparing permit applications, including county mine unit plans, state and county annual reports, and Environmental Resource Permits (ERP)/Conceptual Reclamation Plans (CRP) through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with reclamation and compliance staff on reclamation designs, mitigation standards, and permit timing needs.
  • Communicate with municipalities, public utilities, and regulatory agencies to facilitate processing of mine permits and related approvals.
  • Attend meetings with regulatory agencies and public hearings as needed.
  • Research and stay current with rules, requirements, and policies of each municipality and/or regulatory agency.
  • Prepare draft local county applications, FDEP ERP/CRP permits, and Clean Water Act 404 Dredge and Fill wetlands permits and modifications.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mining, Civil, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Engineer II - 2+ years of experience in mine or wetland permitting at the county, state, and/or federal levels.
  • Engineer III - 4+ years of experience in mine or wetland permitting at the county, state, and/or federal levels.
  • Senior Engineer - 8+ years of experience in mine or wetland permitting at the county, state, and/or federal levels.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and GIS.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • FDEP and/or federal permitting experience.
