Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Winter Patroller to join our winter maintenance team. As a key member of our team, you will perform road maintenance activities on provincial highways, respond to emergency situations, and assist in implementing an emergency plan. You will also provide traffic control at accident scenes, maintain accurate documentation, and operate a variety of equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform road maintenance activities on provincial highways
  • Respond to emergency situations, such as spills and accidents, during inclement weather
  • Assist in implementing an emergency plan and provide traffic control at accident scenes
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including fuel reports, safety reports, and hours of service
  • Operate a variety of equipment, including snowplows and salt spreaders
  • Inspect patrols and create deficient lists for the Patrol Supervisor
  • Respond to public complaints and provide excellent customer service
Requirements
  • G license and clean driving abstract
  • Experience in snow and ice control, along with knowledge of OTM Book 7
  • Knowledge of highway maintenance and ability to work in extreme weather conditions
  • Ability to work assigned shifts, extended hours, and weekends as winter events require
  • Ability to perform manual labor and lift up to 50 lbs
