Job Title: Chief Financial Officer

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer will provide technical and professional advice to the Board of Directors, relevant Board Committees, and the executive team members of The Mustard Seed Society.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide overall accountability for the organization's financial integrity through the analysis of financial performance.
  • Lead and provide strategic direction for the Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Facilities departments.
  • Ensure the ongoing development and execution of a comprehensive enterprise risk management program.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate internal checks and controls to ensure the accuracy of information and the existence of appropriate safeguards to protect the organization's assets.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions.
Requirements:
  • An undergraduate or master's degree in a related field (e.g. Business Administration or Finance/Accounting).
  • A professional accounting designation with at least 10 – 15 years of relevant financial leadership experience at an executive level.
  • Significant experience / knowledge of accounting in the not-for-profit sector, including sophisticated fund and grant accounting, compliance, and reporting is an asset.
