The Opportunity:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled Underground Timberman to join our team at the Lalor Mine in Snow Lake, Manitoba.
  • This is a 7/7 rotation position with 11.5 hour shifts, with opportunities for days and nights.
  • Please note that this is not a "fly-in-fly-out" opportunity. We offer a camp for those who wish to drive in and out to Snow Lake, and relocation packages and housing assistance are available to support you and your family in the vibrant community of Snow Lake.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret drawings, procure tools and equipment, and operate utility hoists to ensure safe and efficient underground operations.
  • Check, install, repair, maintain, and dismantle underground structures, including chutes, barricades, travel ways, timber sets, and other service lines.
  • Construct forms and pour concrete, or lay concrete/fibre blocks for chutes, pumps, fans, dams, bulkheads, and other underground infrastructure.
  • Set up and dismantle concrete mixing and placing machines, and construct forms and blow concrete for chutes, dams, bulkheads, and other underground structures.
  • Operate mobile equipment to prepare work areas, scale and support loose ground, and install timber, wire mesh, strapping, and rock bolts.
  • Install utility hoists, fans, pumps, air cylinders, and other equipment to support underground operations.
  • Drill, load, connect, and blast slash or hitches as required to ensure safe and efficient underground operations.

Prerequisites:

  • Underground mining experience is required for this position.

Compensation Package:

  • $35.88/hour plus an Underground Bonus.
