Job Title: Software Developer Position

Job Summary:
Finning Canada is seeking a talented Software Developer to join our team. As a Software Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that meet business and functional requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate, estimate, design, and implement feature requests to produce high-quality testable solutions.
  • Maintain and support existing software solutions by fixing bugs and optimizing performance.
  • Produce architecture, design, deployment, and user documentation.
  • Identify dependencies by collaborating with other development, data, DevOps, and product management teams.
  • Design, develop, and maintain application/data/deployment CI/CD pipelines.
  • Participate in code reviews and sprint ceremonies.
  • Participate in on-call support activities.

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in developing frontend applications with Angular.
  • 2+ years of experience in developing backend services and APIs with C#, .NET Core, Entity Framework Core.
  • Solid understanding of web development technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS.
  • Practical experience writing and optimizing queries with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills and a positive attitude.
  • Post-Secondary degree or equivalent experience in Computing Science or Information Systems Technology.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in developing frontend applications with React.
  • Knowledge of data ingestion systems/technologies, such as ETL and SSIS.
  • Practical experience in Azure services, such as Azure SQL, Azure Cosmos DB, Kubernetes Service, Azure Functions, and Azure Databricks.
  • Good understanding of CI/CD tools and procedures, such as Azure DevOps or Jenkins.
  • Experience working with containers and infrastructure automation/orchestration.
