About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Project Management to join our team at WSP USA. As a key member of our Major Projects division, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of Project Managers and Directors on complex major projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement project plans, resource allocation, and risk management strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Provide oversight and governance on multiple major projects, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in business development objectives, including proposal reviews, client meetings, and contract negotiations.
  • Define, develop, and document project budgets and schedules, and approve changes to baseline estimates and new forecasted dates.
  • Proactively manage deadlines and ensure effective communication with stakeholders when schedule and cost conflicts arise.
  • Mentor and instruct team members on project requirements, schedules, cost estimates, and other relevant aspects.
  • Ensure project results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule, cost, and budgeted margins.
  • Review drawings, budgets, and contractor quotations for cost-optimized contracts and profitability.
  • Build and maintain mutually beneficial internal and external client relationships through the pursuit of excellence.
  • Develop and maintain an inclusive, high-performance culture based on respect and support.
  • Manage diverse stakeholder groups and other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
  • 10-15+ years of experience in a Project Management or equivalent role.
  • Completed formal training in project management, PMP certification preferred.
  • 4-8 years of previous experience in an EPCM environment in the industrial projects an asset.
  • P.Eng. or P.Tech. designation is an asset.
  • Bilingual in both English and French is an asset.
  • A proven track record of completing projects on time and on budget with a high degree of client satisfaction.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office, including vendor and database software.
