Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to join our team in Penetanguishene. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for coordinating daily production activities, ensuring quality, safety, and maintenance standards are met, and driving overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with scheduling and production management to set daily production priorities and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Communicate and achieve established OEE quality/availability/performance and safety standards within the department.
- Identify and address root causes of performance gaps, ensuring prompt corrective action is taken.
- Maintain 5-S standards and measures within the department, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular team meetings, providing updates on OEE, product, quality, and safety information.
- Initiate employee counseling and disciplinary action as needed, ensuring a fair and respectful work environment.
- Maintain close communication and coordination with other production departments and shifts to ensure priorities are met.
- Ensure training requirements for each departmental employee are identified and plans are in place to close gaps.
- Perform regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and coaching to support employee growth and development.
- Minimum grade 12 diploma or equivalent is an asset.
- Superior organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of the occupational health and safety act and its application in a manufacturing setting.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a team lead role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
