Seasonal Grain Elevator Operator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Unload grain trucks and wagons into the elevator during harvest time, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
  • Load grain trucks outbound for end-user destinations, maintaining accurate records and adhering to quality control standards.
  • Operate a computer system to identify load numbers, scale weights, grades, and other paperwork, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Scale trucks in and out using a computer system, maintaining precise measurements and records.
  • Drive and operate straightforward plant equipment and machinery, such as bobcats, forklifts, and/or trucks, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Transfer and organize goods, ensuring efficient storage and handling.
  • Maintain and adjust straightforward equipment and/or machinery, performing routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on equipment, identifying and addressing potential issues.
  • Receive grain and grade accordingly by sampling, testing, and weighing, ensuring quality control standards.
  • Operate automated system grain dryers, maintaining optimal drying conditions.
  • Climb ladders and work at heights, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Complete monthly inventory checks of grain silos and record results, ensuring accurate records and compliance.
  • Participate in silo cleanouts to sweep, shovel, grain vacuum the silo empty, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service to customers year-round, responding to inquiries and resolving issues promptly.

Requirements:

  • Comfortable with computer/digital technology, with basic knowledge of electrical panels.
  • Physically fit to climb heights, with the ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Ability to operate straightforward plant equipment and machinery, with a general knowledge of safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Full G driver's license, with conversational English skills and the ability to follow posted safety rules and safe operating procedures.
