Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Morning Food Service Specialist to join our team at Braven. In this role, you will be responsible for performing delegated tasks from our management team and preparing food according to our high standards.

The Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • You will work under the direction of our Sous Chef, Chef, or General Manager to perform various tasks as assigned.
  • Prepare food for our restaurant according to O&B standards, ensuring that dishes meet our quality expectations.
  • Familiarize yourself with recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications to ensure consistency in our menu offerings.
  • Maintain a list of station duties to stay organized and ensure efficient workflow.
  • Implement the FIFO method to maximize freshness and minimize waste.
  • Assist in inventory management, including receiving and storing delivered items correctly.
  • Clean and maintain the cleanliness of food prep areas, equipment, utensils, and adhere to strict sanitation, food safety, and hygiene guidelines.
  • Comply with WHMIS and MSDS guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required by management.

Qualifications:

  • You should have 1-2 years of experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • A culinary diploma/degree is an asset but not mandatory.
  • You should possess basic professional cooking skills and knowledge of knife handling techniques.
  • You must be able to take direction and work calmly under pressure, maintaining your composure in a dynamic environment.
  • You will spend most of your time standing, so you should be comfortable on your feet throughout your shift.
