Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular on-site safety inspections to ensure compliance with our safety protocols and regulations.
  • Assist with project safety setup, hazard identification, and control measures.
  • Provide leadership and support to ensure participation and compliance with health and safety awareness and construction-specific safety training.
  • Assist with incident investigations, implement controls, and recommendations.
  • Assist with new employee orientations and training programs.
  • Train employees in WHMIS, aerial work platforms, forklift, telehandler, and other certifications as required.
  • Assist in creating site-specific work plans for hoisting and rigging, confined space, and other high-risk activities.
  • Participate and engage JHSC members and supervisors to ensure safety awareness and compliance.
  • Analyze safety performance and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Provide proactive mentoring in all aspects of on-site health and safety.
  • Collaborate with clients and other safety professionals to achieve best results.
  • Regularly report and plan for setting up and maintaining a safety program and culture.
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Graduate of a recognized health and safety program. NCSO designation considered an asset.
  • 5+ years of actual on-site safety experience, ICI construction preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to assist with preparation, planning, and implementation of JHSC and toolbox talks.
  • Working knowledge of the Ontario Health and Safety Acts and Regulations.
  • Problem-solving and innovation skills.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills.
