Job Details

Hitachi Rail seeks an enthusiastic self-motivated Senior Installation Engineer, who thrives in a fast-paced environment, to work on the North part of the RSSOM line. The successful candidate has solid experience in rail context with managing wayside CIVIL installation design and DEFINING PATHWAYS along the track and within the technical rooms.

  1. Ensure the project is compliant with the contract, the system requirements, and the local electrical regulations.
  2. Design and instruct subcontractor designers to route cables within the technical rooms from given wiring diagrams and along the track system, managing filling ratios and proposing new pathways.
  3. Manage and seek resolutions of the technical interfaces with the civil partners and internal technology.
  4. Ensure the application of quality procedures for the emissions of the documents at every stage of the design.
  5. Interface with the civil designer to ensure the integrated Hitachi design can be implemented.
  6. Identify critical issues in the development of the project, especially during the interfaces, and propose mitigation actions.
  7. Represent the Installation engineering team and support the design choices with all stakeholders.
  8. Ability to work in a BIM environment as part of the project delivery strategy, according to the BIM Execution Plan.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

5-10 years of experience of Civil Works in the Railway Engineering context, especially developed in the area of construction and installation design.

Knowledge Expected:

  1. Interface with civil stakeholders to ensure the installation design can be implemented and its needs are considered.
  2. Ability to identify, understand, and overcome installation challenges when developing the design.
  3. Design management of contractors and subcontractor activities: contract requirements and design processes-control.
  4. Possess the ability to adapt well to change in direction and priorities in a project and deadline-oriented environment.

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to stay organized and maintain project records.

Software:

Must be able to proficiently use Revit, Aconex, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office (Word/Excel). Autodesk Revit or 3D software are considered a plus.

Education:

Civil or Mechanical Engineering University Degree or Equivalent Technical Background.

Languages:

Written and verbal English communication skills.
