Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing drywall sheets, applying successive coats of compound, and sanding seams and joints. They will also instruct apprentices, supervise other workers, and prepare tenders and quotations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install drywall sheets, measuring, cutting, and fitting them to metal or wooden studs or joists.
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a smooth finish.
  • Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers to ensure high-quality workmanship.
  • Prepare tenders and quotations for clients, estimating costs and materials.
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems to create designs and layouts.
  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms to ensure safe working conditions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements.
Requirements
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall installation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work at heights, in dusty environments, and under pressure.
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and stand for extended periods.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in various locations, both indoors and outdoors, and will be exposed to dusty and noisy environments.
