Nurse Care Specialist Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to provide nursing care in a variety of long term and acute care facilities in the area.
This role offers a competitive salary with travel compensation and accommodation.
Responsibilities:
- To provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician's orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN.
- Ensure timely and accessible admissions for residents, including a comprehensive orientation to the home and its services.
- Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents.
- Ensure the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, and protocols are followed on all assigned shifts.
Requirements
- Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Able to work with persons with infectious diseases.
- BLS Certificate.
- Valid First Aid & CPR.
- Proof of current immunizations for MMRV and negative TB skin test within one year, as well as Hepatitis B.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be able to work flexible shift times, eight or twelve hours in length.
- Must be able to 'float' from unit to unit within a hospital, depending on facility need.
- Must be reliable to be placed at an agreed-upon facility/unit.
