About the Role:

The University of Toronto Scarborough is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to fill the role of Assistant Director, Operations. This is a key leadership position within the Health and Wellness Centre, responsible for managing the daily operations of the Centre and providing strategic leadership to the administrative, health promotion, navigation of care, counselling, and primary care teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operations of the Health and Wellness Centre, including coordination, management, and implementation of all services and programs.
  • Provide strategic leadership to the administrative, health promotion, navigation of care, counselling, and primary care teams.
  • Develop and implement organizational changes as required, ensuring integration of sound management practices and the optimal use of resources within the departmental structure.
  • Collaborate with the Director, Health and Wellness Centre, to develop and implement strategic plans and programs that align with the Centre's operational plan and strategic goals.
  • Supervise and lead teams, including health promotion, navigation of care, counselling, and primary care staff.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the effective delivery of services and programs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the Centre, including the development of reports and recommendations for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a relevant area of study or acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum five years of demonstrated operational management experience with progressive responsibilities in managerial leadership managing large complex teams - preferably in the health care sector in a post-secondary setting, public health, workplace health, medical setting, or comparable environment.
  • Experience supervising and leading teams, preferably in a unionized environment.
  • Experience with health programs, compiling and analyzing data, writing reports, working on time-sensitive projects and managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent organizational skills, proven leadership, prioritization, project management, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze complex situations, identify key issues, and balance both long-term objectives and day-to-day operations.
