**Job Description**

We are seeking an Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Surrey Memorial Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing skilled electrical work, including preventative maintenance, inspection, testing, installation, and repair of electrical facilities, equipment, and circuitry.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining the hospital's electrical preventative maintenance program
  • Reviewing work requests and consulting with user departments to arrange work schedules and discuss specifications
  • Interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine material and equipment requirements
  • Calculating materials and labor to provide cost estimation of projects and making recommendations as necessary
  • Carrying out inspections, installations, preventative maintenance, and repairs of electrical apparatus, including trayveyors, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems

**Required Skills and Qualifications**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a Journeyman Electrician recognized by the Province of British Columbia
  • Two years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
