About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Technologist to join our team at Dillon Consulting. As a key member of our transportation design team, you will play a critical role in the development of detailed design contract packages, collaboration with multidisciplinary team members, and application of 2D and 3D CAD software.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers, planners, scientists, and technical support staff to develop detailed design contract packages;
  • Assist project managers and engineers in the functional and detailed design of transportation structures;
  • Complete detailed design drafting for various project types;
  • Apply CAD software to produce design drawings and documents;
  • Prepare construction drawings and documents;
  • Assist with contract administration tasks, including construction observation, shop drawing review, and progress payment preparation;
  • Coordinate and complete site assessments, construction observation, and construction management of site documentation;
  • Participate in business travel to other Dillon offices as required.

Learning and Development

  • Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development;
  • Participate in Dillon's early career development program;
  • Receive support from senior drafters and engineers with 20+ years of experience.

Qualifications

  • Diploma program from an accredited Architectural or Engineering Technologist Program, or equivalent;
  • 2-5 years of experience in the engineering consulting industry;
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and interpersonal skills;
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented;
  • Proficient use of current CAD software, including AutoCAD and Revit;
  • Knowledge of relevant municipal, provincial, and industry engineering standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
