Job Title: Machinist

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team at Canada One Steel Inc. in a permanent position.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machine tools and equipment to produce high-quality parts and products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts using precision measuring instruments.
  • Measure and lay out work pieces in preparation for assembly.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables.
  • Repair machine tools and parts, and maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments.
  • Set up and adjust production machineries/tools, and fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance.
  • Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances, and maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.
  • Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments, and set up and operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools.
  • Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Physically demanding work, with the ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
  • Team player with good communication skills.
  • Quick learner with a willingness to adapt to new technologies and processes.
