AGAT Laboratories, a leading full-service laboratory with a strong presence across Canada, is seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician B to join its Inorganic Lab in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

The ideal candidate will possess a Technical Diploma/Science Degree or equivalent industry experience and have a minimum of 3-5 years of laboratory work experience. Previous experience with ICP-MS instrumentation, knowledge, maintenance, and troubleshooting is mandatory.

We offer competitive compensation for this role, estimated at CAD $55,000 - $65,000 per annum, based on industry standards and the cost of living in the region. Job Responsibilities
  • Perform routine laboratory procedures including sample preparation, reagent preparation, and calibration solution setup.
  • Provide general lab support, including glassware washing, workstation cleaning, and waste disposal.
  • Calibrate, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot intermediate instruments, including ICP-MS equipment.
  • Compile, verify, and validate accurate data records to ensure quality assurance and meet turn-around specifications.
  • Follow Quality Control and Standard Operating Procedures, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
  • Report results accurately and efficiently.
Requirements
  • Technical Diploma/Science Degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of laboratory work experience.
  • Previous laboratory work experience, preferably in an inorganic lab environment.
  • Experience with ICP-MS instrumentation, knowledge, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Basic computer skills with experience using MS Office and LIMS software.
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English (verbal and written).
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks within a fast-paced work environment.
  • Hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Mature work ethic, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
