Job Title: Senior Internal Controls Advisor

As a Senior Internal Controls Advisor at Desjardins Group, you will play a key role in ensuring the effectiveness of our internal controls and risk management practices. You will work closely with our team of seasoned professionals to identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks in the P&C insurance sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assess and Improve Internal Controls: Plan and conduct assessments of the design and effectiveness of internal controls, identifying areas for improvement and recommending enhanced controls in collaboration with expert groups.
  2. Educate and Communicate: Educate the organization about internal controls, ensuring that all stakeholders understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining effective controls.
  3. Collaborate and Coordinate: Work with multiple stakeholders across various fields to develop and implement projects and initiatives that involve operational controls, ensuring effective deployment of regulatory changes.
  4. Analyze and Report: Conduct analyses and develop positions in collaboration with experts from various risk categories and business sectors for the P&C insurance sector, identifying and analyzing issues, reporting major issues, and making recommendations to decision-making bodies.
  5. Represent and Advocate: Represent your unit before committees and working groups, advocating for effective risk management practices and internal controls.

Requirements:
  1. Education: Hold a Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  2. Experience: Possess a minimum of eight years of relevant experience, including at least five years in controls or internal audits.
  3. Designation: Hold a professional accounting designation (CPA).
  4. Language Skills: Demonstrate strong communication skills in both French and English, both oral and written.
  5. Knowledge and Skills: Familiarity with best practices, methodologies, and tools used in risk management, governance, and internal controls.
