Electrical Project Lead Position

We are seeking an Electrical Project Manager to join our team at Recruitment By Design. As a seasoned professional in electrical building services, you will oversee the development of system engineering concepts and ensure timely completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage project design briefs and concept reports
  • Review and interpret existing installations and manage their impact on projects
  • Select equipment and perform calculations as necessary
  • Communicate code requirements to internal and external teams
  • C coordinate document management with project teams
  • Understand construction procurement methodologies and apply them as needed
  • Review project deliverables for completeness and accuracy
  • Promote company standards for project administration and documentation
  • Act as contract administrator for designated projects when requested
  • Ensure shop drawing review process is completed within project timelines
  • Coordinate with contract administration team regarding drawing reviews and site activities
  • Prepare change notices and amendments to contracts as necessary
  • Respond to technical and financial queries related to projects
  • Maintain Principal-in-charge or Associate Principal advised of changes in scope of work
  • Support accounts receivable process
  • Ensure discipline coordination processes are complete for internal project teams
  • Monitor project schedules and critical data required for performance
  • Liaise with external consultants and vendors as required
  • Organize and attend meetings including client meetings

Requirements:

  • 3 or more years of project engineering experience in electrical building services
  • Senior C.E.T. with equivalent experience and abilities may also be considered
  • Demonstrate strong leadership qualities and ability to work independently
  • Able to work in complex environment with multiple projects and clients
  • Possess sound communications skills as demonstrated through client and staff relations
  • Experience working with other consultants and contractors, and coordination of major projects
  • Knowledgeable about provincial building code, electrical code, CSA, ULC, IEEE, IES, and NFPA standards
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • LEED certification or experience implementing sustainable design is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, methods, and standards
  • Demonstrates initiative and practical problem-solving
