We are seeking a skilled Factory Labourer to join our Production Team at Matelas Avanti Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our factory by transporting items, checking and weighing materials, and performing other labouring and elemental activities.
Key Responsibilities- Transportation and Material Handling: Safely transport items throughout the plant using powered equipment and manually transport raw materials, finished products, and equipment as needed.
- Quality Control: Check and weigh materials and products to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Packaging and Preparation: Sort, pack, crate, and package materials and products for shipping and storage.
- Cleanliness and Maintenance: Clean machines and immediate work areas to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Newcomer and Refugee Support: Assist in the social and labour market integration of newcomers and refugees by facilitating access to community resources, language training, and skills training.
- Youth Support: Provide on-the-job training tailored to youth and help them develop skills and gain work experience.
- Mature Worker Support: Offer phased re-entry options for mature workers who are returning to work after retiring, including gradually increasing hours and responsibilities.
- Visible Minority Support: Pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees through mentorship programs to promote career advancement and professional development.
- Work Term: Permanent position with a regular schedule.
- Work Language: English or French.
- Hours: 40 hours per week.
